The plot is about a child prodigy, Mary Adler, her uncle, Frank Adler and her grandmother, Evelyn. The movie starts with Mary being admitted in first grade, against her will, by Frank where the teachers find out about her being a maths wizard which eventually leads to Evelyn learning about this. Thus, Evelyn ends up filing a lawsuit for Marys custody and then the entire thing results in exploring the characters emotions about each other and doing what is best for the child.
The actors have done a wonderful job at depicting all the emotions and feelings through there acting, especially the child actor who was playing Mary, Mckenna Grace. The music was suitable but didnt play much role in improving the movie as such, it might or might not have made the experience a little more enhancing but nothing else.
The ending is pretty predicable but the importance of message that the movie conveys overshadows that. The movie shows how even if a child is precocious, it is still important to have them a childhood which they can look back to and smile.
Being different than others doesnt necessarily mean that you would have to be treated differently.
