It may be akward naming the title gilli and and the hero is kabadi player.....but they have just justified it .....gilli is the typical madras slang for the ’street smart’ guy why watch the movie?

Vijay is not talking much dialogues like his old movies, thank fully no dialogues like rajni...which he tried to do in his previous films. Music by vidhya sagar, though not sweet to ears....its racy kinda stuff ....goes well with this fast pace movie....’’apadi podu’’ has bcome another ’’o podu’’
stunts are excellent....
Typical tamil hero’s movie...so no probs in stunt scenes ..hero is always going to win...but the stunts are really well done ones...
The main reason for the films success ...prakashraj...he has the villan has given a mind blowing performance......a treat to the viewers

Vijay as velu nicknamed gilli.....he comes as a kabaddi player....has done excellently well...has underplayed himself very well.......his dances r superb...stunts r superb...in his films he does most of the stunts on jis own......his comedy has also worked out well in this movie.....
Trisha as danalakshmi....the gal who rescued form her cousin prakashraj by vijay....she has done her role neatly...but I think she is little lean...she has to put up some more flesh...
Prakashraj ...as muthupandi...son of minister ...who forces her cousin trisha to marry her.....for this he kills 2 of trisha’s brothers......his reactions...his way of speech all attracts you very much.......he stands in ur mind even after the film is over.....not the usual kind of villan we are used to....
Ashish vidhyarti as vijays father.....jennifer as vijay’s sister hav done their part perfectly..... actor Vikram’s father is also in the cast as trisha’s father....
dhamu as ottry nari is funny...
Reason for success:
Its remake of telugu superduper hit okkadu but dharani has made it right combination to suit our tamil fans....
Very fast paced movie...at no point of time u feel boared....
Intelligent screenplay....and good direction
Superb performances by vijay and prakashraj..... excellent stunts and song choreography family comedy works out well....
Treat to front bencher as well as family crowds....
So wat ....don’t see the movie in vcd...go and watch it in theatre.
