That is probably what Laloo Prasad Yadav would have said has he seen this movie. Since we don’t know if he saw it and no one was there to take his particular comments after he saw it, I’m just going to have to say so on his behalf, therefore I quote... ’’Very crappy movie’’... end quote.
First of all the movie had the stupidest story on the planet. Half the time in the movie was spent in utterly pointless dialogue. Especially the scenes between the Emperor Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) and his sister, they spend most of their time babbling about nonsense and you keep getting the feeling that Commodus is dying to sleep with his sister... never managed to figure what the heck that was about.
The actual fight scenes in the colosseum could put a person to sleep !!! Russell Crowe is shown in scenes cooly walking out into the arena alone while all the other gladiators are just standing outside like idiots and he then ’’single handedly’’ chops them up one by one and they hardly even put up a fight ! Yah right! like 1 man can take on 20 guys armed with swords and axes... and they obviously don’t all rush him, they allow themselves to be killed off one at a time.
I found the movie to be a complete waste of time, with dry acting and badly choreographed fight sequences much of which were computer generated and pretty obvious at that. I’d pick a movie like Braveheart any day over this one given the fact both have pretty similar stories and VERY similar endings.
