Lately I had heard about this great store in Hill Road, Bandra and planned to visit it with my friends, so one fine evening we landed up there and LO ! discount season was going on.
I hoped to end up buying some nice clothes with nice bargain but was utterly disappointed. They had prominently display discounts as 40-50% but every stuff which I picked had only discounts of 20-25%, I never found goods which had 50% discount, maybe those were sold away or tucked nicely in some corner.
So finally I decided to buy a Jeans with some casual Shirts to top it. 1st floor is Ladies wear and 2nd floor is gents stuff but I went to 3rd Floor where they have this Denim section. I headed straight to the Pepe section as I have been using Pepe for sometime now and those fit well. Picked up a Jeans just to be informed that there is no discount on the ones I have picked up. There was a scheme going on wherein a purchase of more than 1500/- of Pepe goods will get me a Denim Deodorant, so I picked up a Pepe discounted shirt (20% only) and some more shirts and went to the billing counter. I demanded my Denim Deodorant as my purchases on Pepe was more than 1500/- but they informed me that I had mixed discounted item with the Full priced Jeans so I cant avail the gift scheme, so it happened that I paid full price for the jeans and still no gifts as I had bought a discounted shirt.
Had it been this much only I would not have any regrets but my ordeal didnt end here, after a week I wore the jeans and found that it had slipped stitches on thigh. I never expected that branded jeans like Pepe will have manufacturing defect and so never bothered to check it at store as fitting was not an issue with me.
So finally I located the bill and went to Globus to get it exchanged.I showed to the counter sales guys that the stitches was slipped due to which it looked torn, so they took the jeans and went to have a word with their manager. I had thrown away the labels which was an issue with them but how was I supposed to know that the jeans might have defect and I will be needing the labels. So I offered that they give me a replacement and take out the labels of the new jeans which some how appealed to them. Then after much argument and hustle-bustle I got my Jeans replaced with just the same kind, Pepe, same size.
After going through all this I felt that shopping experience at Globus was not very pleasant for me even though the fact that I bought branded goods which are guaranteed against any manufacturing defects. More so the staff is very adamant and unsupportive.
