Google, the world’s most renown search engine recently launched its own e-mail client, that too for free!!!
The client offers over 2 GB (Whoa!) of space, that too for free!
I first got an invitation to start my gmail account from one of my friends, and just for the heck of it, I made an account. I was unimpressed by it, since I was too lazy to look into the features that it had and the look wan’t very flashy. However, with conversations with my friends, I came to know about its filters and the auto-forwarding features, that clearly holds gmail apart from any other e-mail client. And ahoy! Be prepared to be impressed by the way it saves your mails. They’re saved as conversations. Whenever you open your inbox, you’ll see the mails kept like conversations! You opt to open a particular mail, and you can actually simultaneously read all the mails that were sent before this to the same person, in a queue, in case you want to read the earlier ones.
Its really groovy!!
Gmail is fast, very very fast.
And yes, the attachments are great! you will be surprised how fast it attaches files to your mails. And its ideal to attach sound files at gmail. Least fuss and most efficiency.
Unlike before, Gmail now offers rich text formatting, and is not into plain text anymore. And the searching is faster, smoother, and your search never ever leaves you dissatisfied.
Gmail is available in 12 languages and is supported by absolutely any web browser... even the oldest ones, since it’s just plain HTML!!! Wow!! Can you imagine any other mail client doing that?With Picasa you can send upto 10MB of photos, ain’t that great?
And hey! Its POP access makes it even more alluring a choice! You can use Outlook or Blackberry or just the internet! And also, you can import contacts from any mail account of yours!! It also supports CSV format of addresses
