GO Air... from the house of Wadia’s....in simple terms is PATHETIC.. I always though air Deccan was bad.. till I had an experience with GO AIR..
Booking... It takes on ana verage 40 minutes of waiting time on the phone for a booking agent to finally rspond to u, thats INR 40-80 already spent before u actually know if a ticket is available.. and for all those who are planning to book online, more often than NOT, online booking wont work.. simply because GO AIR charges more if booked via phone.. and my sixth sense tells me that they have a revenue sharing agreement with telephone providers.. the longer they keep u on phone, the more is the cash registers ringing.. Nice Revenue Model Mr JEHANGIR WADIA.
Rebooking/Cancellation : The home page page ( https://goair.in) says online rebooking/cancellation costs INR 600 and on phone INR 675. But hey, theres no option of cancelling/rebooking online. A cheating strategy- obviously a customer would call up the call centre and again spend money on phone bills and ticket cancellation :-).. wah wah!!
View Booking : No option available to view your booking online. So once you have canceeled the same, there is no evidence that its cancelled. You cant check it Online!!... so if you have to be doubly sure, call up the customer centre again (and spend money).. and if you do not, for all you know, your tick was not cancelled and you lost all the money!!!
Credit Note : I dont know if the Indian laws permit a company to keep your money if you hav e cancelled the tickets.. and NOT EVEN pay INTEREST on it.. well GO AIR does it, maybe because the promotres hail from a different NATION, where anything can be allowed!! .. moreover, the credit note is valid only for six months!!!
If any lawyer is reading this, request him to please file a PIL against the cancellation policy of GO AIR. if my statement is required, I am all for it.
After such a wonderful prebooking experience, I was in no mood to travel by the Airline..So I cant write about the flight experince. But its PATHETIC, and try it only only only if u have no other option left!!!
