Things to do

The first time I visited goa was november 20th 2002.

id never been abroad before so I didnt know what to expect, I admit I was scared.

i fell in love with place as soon as we landed, its was a strage land yet I didnt feel like a stranger.

i took my friend melvin sightseeing, he was goan yet hed never been to any of the places where I took him.

we went to an old spice farm, it was amazing, really interesting. we got complimentory coconut milk, complimentory food (very hot and spicy) and then they made us try cashew fenni, my goodness that was strong, how any one can drink that all day I dont know.

then the guide denzal took us aroung this farm where we saw the human monkey.

he is a fully grown man that climbs trees so fast that u can actually miss him, he collects all the coconuts I think.

after that we went to the zoo, ive never been to a zoo before, it was an eye opener, I actually had a ride on an elephant in there, that was an experience, I was really scared because its a long drop if you fall but I didnt and after the first couple of minutes it was fun.

there was snakes in there of various species and colour, porkipines, crocodiles, monkeys, everything you could think of.

then we took a trip down to old goa where we stood queing to see st francis for over 4 hours, in the sweltering sun. it was so hot just stood there, I also got alot of wierd looks because I was the only white person there, I think people were shocked.

we finally got in there, it only took about a minute, then we was out again. it was amazing. we walked back to our taxi through the market which was packed full and bought some spices and trinkets to take back.

the next day we went crab catching, it was really good fun, we must have caught about 3 dozen crabs and they actually cooked them for us in butter garlic, they were so nice. id never tried crab before but ill definately have it again.

we hired a jeep and took a trip from north goa back to where we was in candolim by the beaches, we visited the famous turtle beach, that was interesting, we visited tiricle fort, arumbal beach, it took us the whole day but it was an experience and so much fun.

melvins actually taking me dolphin spotting in november. I cant wait.

if you ever go on holiday to goa please try some of these trips instead of just lying on the beach, its so much fun and sometimes a once in a lifetime experience.
