The Interio store is located just outside Godrej factory at vikhroli, mumbai.
Its very spacious and welcoming. Once you enter the store, you are welcomed with a bottled water. Unlike other furniture stores, this one is very spacious and you get ample room to look around sofas, beds, etc. Staff is just OK.
we visited the store to buy a small electronic locker/safe. We could have bought this online as well. But we wanted to have a physical look and also get immediate delivery, hence decided not to buy online.
That is a hugh mistake, we soon realized. Although it was a small ready made Safe(and not a hugh furniture) we assumed that at max it should be delivered in a weeks time. After 7 days, after persistent calling, they said the order has not put in system. Just imagine, after a week of paying them cash money, they inform you that your product has not been provisioned at the ware house! . and that too for a small ready made locker. I cant imagine what they would do to big assembled furniture.
So here are things you need to be vary of:
1)This guys make you sign a contract which effectively states that they can make delivery anytime from one week to 2 months. Yes, you read that right. YOU SIGN A CONTRACT, which absolves them from returning your money if your order is NOT delivered within TWO MONTHS. Now re-read what I wrote. Re-Read again.
Not only are they the first stores who actually make you SIGN A CONTRACT at the time of purchase. But they actually think TWO months of order delivery is a acceptable duration.
2)You can NOT make payment on Delivery. So spend Rs.1 Lacs upfront on furniture and wait two months for delivery.
3)They don’t negotiate, even if you plan to buy 10 Lacs worth of furniture. I went during a sale, only to realize that the best discount was of 10% with loads of conditions attached.
4)They do accept cheque payment. But order is put in system only once your cheque is realized.
Final verdict: Avoid them if time bound delivery is of importance to you or if you believe in payment on delivery. This unit functions as a Government office. AVOID.
Update 3 April 2015:
1)The above review was actually posted in the month of February. I really do NOT know why it has been made online in month of April. The above review is for Godrej Interio Stores located at Vikhroli.
2)Some folk from Godrej called me up today to inquire about the above issue. They were surprised that since my Locker was delivered in Feb 2015, why have I posted this review now. The gentleman apologized for the inconvenience.
3)Im yet to see official response from Godrej Interio on above.
4)My personal verdict on Godrej Interio Stores - Vikhroli still remains same. AVOID.
The reason being - in todays world, you can NOT make customer SIGN contract absolving the manufacturer/seller the responsibility of delivery product on time. And that too, enforcing a no refunds if not delivered for TWO MONTHS.
Thats Outrageous Godrej Interio, Evolve please, people have choices.
