Goibibo's chain of lying, bluffing and cheating...

Gosh, how I wish I would have had a mind like these people have, the goibibo.com guys? There is no wonder why people prefer to take a train or bus for 10-12 hours than to fly for 1-2 hours. This one experience on how pathetic your life could become in case you make a change in your plan of journey.

I booked a round trip using this website. Bangalore to Mumbai on 22 Dec 2012. Mumbai to Bangalore on 10 Jan 2013. The onward journey was done and in the beginning of Jan, there was a change in my travel plan. I called goibibo.com and asked them if I can cancel the ticket. The agent told me that they can not cancel it but I can contact the airlines(GoAir in my case) to get it cancelled. Further, in case they agree and cancel, the refund will be sent to the agent(Goibibo in my case), and they will further send it to me.

I called GoAir and they willfully agreed to cancel the return ticket and said that I will get a refund of Rs 2287. It made sense. I asked them 2-3 times if the amount is correct. They said yes. I canceled the ticket. On 5 Jan, GoAir sent me a confirmation that the flight is cancelled and the amount is refunded to goibibo.

And then, the circus begins.

Firstly, goibibo calls to tell me that they have received a refund of Rs 500 only. They will deduct some charges and refund me some 100-200 rupees. I was shocked. I told them that there should be some confusion and asked them to re-check. They continued to hold their stance. Agitated, I called goibibo again this time, I was told that they will refund some 600 Rs. Wow, in moments, my refund increased. I understood there is some fraud going on.

I kept arguing over the amount of refund from goair and they denied to disclose. Such confident liars that they even told me that they can take me on a con call with goair people and confirm that the refund received is only 600/700 rupees. I told them to take the con call. On the first occasion, they put me on hold saying they are connecting and for full 30 minutes, I was holding, after which my phone auto-disconnected. On second occasion, they said that the line is busy and they are unable to connect. They told me that I should contact goair only and should not call goibibo anymore. Such confident cheats that they told me that the goair people are lying and have misguided me.

I called goair, they told me the same thing that they have refunded Rs 2287. I asked them for evidence and they sent me an invoice by email. That was a clear evidence. GOIBIBO WAS CHEATING, LYING AND FOOLING.

I forwarded the invoice to them and they are silent now. There is no response, no answer, nothing. I am looking forward file a consumer court case on this website. I am also looking forward to inform GoAir on how these people are spoiling the airlines image by calling the airlines as a liar, misguide, etc. I will also claim for damages for waste of time, talk time as well as the agony for the last 2-3 days. If it was told on the 1st instant that refund will be just 500rs, I could have as well taken the flight. These guys love cancellations at last moment as they can find passengers at higher ticket prices as well as earn the cancellation charges as well as this fraudulent practice of retaining the entire amount you paid to book the ticket.

I see that goibibo gives a dummy reply to all reviews on mouthshut saying that they want the booking/pnr number to help. Here it is. G8M4I01F / M4I01F. So, ensure that you will reply with solution and the solution is STOP CHEATING AND RETURN THE ENTIRE AMOUNT THAT YOU GOT FROM GOAIR(Goair has already taken a cancellation fee of Rs 1000. I guess you also charge some 100-200 rs cancellation fee. You can take that)

This would be the last time I and a large number of friends would be using your website in case this is not solved to satisfaction WITH PROPER RESPONSIBLE STATEMENTS and not some amateur responses.

Dear Priyanka,Greetings from Goibibo.com!!Kindly note that we tried reaching you to discuss regarding the issue however unable to establish contact since the registered no with us is switched offPlease note that we had investigated regarding your issue and found that as already advise by our team your booking was confirmed under special fare where in partial cancellation is not permitted as per the fare rules associated with the booking.for Mumbai- Bangalore sector however airlines had erroneously cancelled the return sector which was advised by their customer service rep Askim and also advised that wrongly refunded amount of INR2287 will be debited from our agency account and the actual refund is INR621 out of which the IBIBO charges are INR250 per passenger per transaction+ INR125 convenience fee.Please note that all the applicable standard cancellation charges are published on our website as well.However Since it is a weekend we would request you to grant us time till Monday to get this validated with the airlines.Kind Regards,Goibibo Team
