Mostly you must have got a gist of my review from the title of this post. Gold Souk, Gurgaon is nothing but bunch of jewellers who have flopped badly. And this is the verdict from one of the jeweller shop from gold souk itself, they are getting hardly 3-4 customers per shop per day and sometimes even they don’t shop there once they understand there phone schemes.
So how is shops in gold souk fooling you and what preparation one must to before shopping at such places?
- Gold Rates : Make it sure you check the gold rates (both 22k and 24k) most of the shops sell 22k but how they trick you is they charge gold rates for 24k. You must confront and pay for what you are buying, make a phone call before you go for shopping.
Let me give you an example, as of today 22k gold is for 2714 and 24k is 2945 for 1gm, this means a difference of Rs.200 per gm. So if you buy 10gm, you are making a loss of Rs.2000+ and then on this gold rate they will add on making charges which we will discuss in next point.
- Making charges : this is one point which differs from place to place, but on an average even the top jewelers of delhi do not charge making more than 7-10%. However, as stated above gold souk has really low purchasing, they have making charges of over 13%, which is simply ridiculous.
