Golmaal Returns: We accept !!!

First things first, Golmaal Returns is a fun film. Its not something to look for logic into. It’s funny the way when the logic is sidelined for films of some actors and when it comes to Ajay Devgan, people immediately look for logic and pounce upon him on even a small mistake he does. may be because of his quality films people have set certain expectations from him. **It was a sign of relief for me to see people returning from the threatre, yeah and that too cuz they couldn’t manage tickets. I myself went for the 3.30 Show but could only manage the 6.15 Show.

Well without wasting any time let’s get on to the Plot of the movie. Now if I would have looked for this then there would have been huge dissapointment and I would have been unfair to this one. After watching sagaless movies like HP, PHP, DHP, SIK and enjoying them, I kept the same barometer for GR as well.

Its Gopal ( Ajay Devgan), the man of the house who lives with his wife Ekta ( Kareena ), Brother in Law ( Tushar ) and Sister Eisha ( Amrita Arora ). A suspecting wife makes him hide the reason of him not returning home for a full night. This lie or rather non-disclosure of the events of that nights give rise to a lot of sequences in which Gopal is caught as the prime suspect, as on that very same night, a murder also happened and the Police Inspector Madhav ( Arshad Warsi ) is all after Gopal. Gopal pitches in Laxman a.k.a Anthony Gonsalves ( Shreyas ) to help him out in lieu of a Job in his company. What happens after that gives a lot of funny moments, witty one liners and some brilliant spoofs on movies including Ajay’s few of them.

As we see the plot isnt as interesting but then Rohit Shetty’s treatment is what makes it good, infact very good. There are a lot of scenes which make you crack up like hell. The whole auditorium was in hysterics on the situations Ajay falls in all the time. Specially the scenes between Ajay and Kareena and Ajay and Shreyas are awesome. Tushar is also good and C___TIA, MA____OD, and INSP____TOR in his style are uberly funny.

Rohit Shetty technically is improving with every film, and GR just proves that. he is on the way to become Aneez Bazmee Part - II and the co-incidental part is that even Anees started his career as a director with Ajay Devgan in Hulchul. Rohit shot Delhi wonderfully in Sunday and this time he does the same with Goa for GR. He packs the funny punch and gets our funny bones tickling at will.

Performances are something to talk about:-

Ajay Devgan for me is the show stealer in this one. He is so good as the troubled husband, that there is no imagining further. His timing in comedy has remarkably improved and his scenes with Kareena, whenever she is suspecting him are awesome. An Actor who always has been criticised for comedy, does well in comedy this time. Never Give up, that is what his attitude is and kudos to him for that.

Kareena Kapoor has been good in comedies and loud roles. She does well this time also.

Tushar continues from where he left in Golmaal and is equally hilarious. Though he went over the top sometimes.

Shreyas is good at times and over the top at times.

Arshad Warsi was below expectations.

Sanjay Misra has an underwritten role, wished to see more of him.

Music : I particularly like Tha Tha kar ke and I feel this is the best song of the album. Tu Sala was missed and the songs of Golmaal in the background were awesome.

Overall, its a good entertainer. It is the best comedy this year after One-Two-Three. Golmaal Returns is something you wont enjoy alone in the theatre. Walk in with friends and have a fun ride.
