If you looked up in a thesarus, you would probably find Google listed as a synonym of Internet.
Because, to put it simply, Google is one of the things the Internet is all about.
I first started using Google a long, long time ago for infomation required for summer holidays and other school projects. At that time, Google was just a search engine, like many others. But one thing stood out then, was its accuracy. Unlike most search engines which would mostly lead you around in circles, this one was efficient.
Since then Google has come a long, long way. Its services have now expanded a lot, though most of them revolve around Searches. Clicking on the more>> link gives you a full list, most of them I use.
My favourite three (besides the Web Search Engine) have got to be Images Search, News Search and the Translator. The Images Search is used to find images for my blog, Photoshoppery, etc. The News Search is used to find online URLs for newspaper articles to share with friends. And the Translator is used for fun, to translate football websites written in foreign languages like Italian, Spanish or French.
But what I like most is the WED Search. Now with school projects scare, it is mostly used when Im bored and have nothing to do, I just type in some random words and browse. Thats how I found Mouthshut.
Of course a few of the services arent really helpful to non-US residents yet like the Google Local and Froogle. University Search would be helpful to those seeking admission in US. And the Google groups could be arranged in a better format, it takes some time to get used to. But I think they are working on it as theres a Group 2 Beta in Google Labs which is in a much better format.
