Summary: Do not fall for the high rating. Most of the positive reviews show repetitive patterns while the negative reviews are detailed and clearly indicate how the company works. My experience trying to claim warranty was just terrible, and the company will try to gaslight you if you post real feedback online. If you have time, read the main review below to get a better sense of how they operate.
I had purchased a 4-year extended warranty from them when I bought a new TV. For registering the warranty, they asked me to upload a valid "purchase invoice"(check the attached image showing a screenshot of their invoice upload page) and an image of the TV switched on and showing the serial number. Id purchased the TV from Amazon, and Amazon shows the serial number of the TV(the serial number you see in the TV settings, not the HSN and the other number on the box) in the P-slip and order summary, not in the GST invoice. An executive told me to upload the invoice that matched the serial number in the TV image, so I uploaded the order summary. They validated everything and issued me a warranty certificate.
However, when my TV stopped working after two years, they first rejected my claim stating that I had not uploaded the "GST invoice"(note that the invoice upload page does not mention "GST invoice, " but this specific requirement is communicated only when you raise a claim). When I pointed out that they were asking for one thing during warranty registration and rejecting for a different thing during the claim, their CEO intervened and made an "exception" for me. This exception was basically allowing me to raise a service request(yes, the company does not allow you to raise a service request for claiming warranty till it has validated the warranty that it issued to you after it had validated the documents you uploaded, and yes, that is as nonsensical as it sounds).
However, getting someone to actually act on the service request turned out to even more difficult. After getting no response from them after a week of following up, I posted reviews regarding my experience, and they immediately responded by sending a technician and asking me to take down the reviews. I took down or changed the reviews as a gesture of goodwill. The technician informed them that the panel would need changing, and they rejected the quote since it was too expensive for them and decided to start the whole process afresh after two weeks. When I pointed out that this was basically two weeks of wasted effort, the service manager smugly informed me that they had a 30-day SLA to handle these cases(only working days, so its basically six weeks). I let them know this wasnt okay; the conversation got heated; and the service manager called me "velle"(unemployed), among other things, because I had been following up with them for the smallest of updates. I dont think I was entitled to take abuse from these guys just so I could get my TV repaired, so I responded in kind. The service manager informed me that he was gonna reject my next quote and that I should not expect service from them.
Moral: If you value your time and sanity, please take a moment before you buy a warranty from this company. If you are one of those "unreasonable" people who expects prompt and professional service for a product you have paid for, please be prepared to be gaslighted for that expectation by this company(youll see the same pattern in their response, if they post one). I bought a warranty for peace of mind and ended up wasting money and got a truckload of stress over two weeks. GoWarranty will try every trick they know to reject your claims, including tagging you as "abusive" even if you were responding to their own employees abusive behavior. If you want peace of mind, buy an extended warranty from the manufacturer or from a third-party provider you or other real people have dealt with earlier(online reviews can be brought in bulk for very little money). Just dont buy stress, which is what I did when I purchased an extended warranty from GoWarranty.
P.S. Please check out the negative reviews properly. A lot of them repeat the same issues I have highlighted in my review. This is not an isolated case.
