The movie ’’Grease’’ was a hit in Singapore in 1978. I was sixteen at that time. ’’Grease’’ became the talk of the school and I do not want to be left out by not knowing what the movie was all about.
I remember watching ’’Grease’’ with my first date back then and I also remember watching it twice because once was not enough for me. Some of my friends watched the movies many, many times just to pick out the style of the gang, the music and the dance. As far as I can remember, it was a hit for quite some time and I also remember that at that time, the teenagers picked out the 60s style again.
I particularly liked Olivia Newton John as Sandy the ’’Innocent Virgin’’. I thought she looked sweet that way. However, as the plot of the story goes, she was transformed into being just like one of the gang. This movie was really enjoyable right through the end. They have some funny scenes in between. The Pink Ladies even had their hair dyed pink.
As the years go by, I soon outgrew the kids stuff in ’’Grease’’ but ten years after it was shown at the Movies, it appeared on TV one night and to tell you the truth, I could’nt help watching it all over again reliving all my teenage memories. I had my nephews and nieces eyes all glued on the TV. They loved the movie too.
