Well..............its reining REALLITY SHOWS on Indian television, which is giving good platform and chance to all kind of people, from all strata of life.But till now the emphasis has been primarily on singing talents, shows like INDIAN IDOL, FAME GURUKUL, TVS SARAGAMA-Super challenge, all are in search for good singers, before that there was CINESTAR KI KHOJ on ZEE TV, which gave a chance to youngsters to show their acting prowness, there was even a programn on SONY, by the name DANCE DANCE, where they were selecting the best dance pair.............................but nobody till now thought of giving a chance to comedians, people who have the talent to make us laugh(mind you it is the most difficult thing to do).So I feel STAR ONE has done a commendable job by giving these people a chance to showcase their comic talent, and I also feel that GREAT INDIAN LAUGHTER CHALLENGE is probably one of the funniest show I have seen on Indian tv, considering that the standard of comedy is not particularly high in our country, coz we tend to go overboard, but GILC is a great show with some really funny and good comic acts, by the contestant.I am a regular and avid watcher of this show..................and its only a few times that I thought that the contestant were not upto the mark.
JUDGES
I think to take SHEKHAR SUMAN and NAVJOT SINGH SIDHU in the panel of judges was quite good, coz both have good sense of comedy and are also encouraging to the participants, clapping and laughing with them throughout.Though sometimes, i feel Sidhu goes overboard, laughing uneccesarily, when it is not required.Shekar Suman is the more controlled of the two, and only laughs when the contestant genuinly puts a good show.I think in the finals they are getting JONNY LEVER(Not exactly his fan) and RAJPAL YADAV(He is reaaly funny) as celebrity guest, so its quite good, as they are famous comedians of BOLLYWOOD, they’ll do a good job of judging the contestant.
ANCHOR
PERIZAAD KOLAH(UNusual surname).....................is allright, as the host of the show.Though her hindi is not upto the mark and her diction is pretty bad, but still shE is doing a good job, she’s is quite presentable, has a very similing face and is not as fake as some Of the other hosts on the other tv channels, in particular MANDIRA BEDI.
CONTESTANT
Now, the show cannot be good or worth watching if the people who participate are noT good, so its here the show scores the most, coz some of the participants are downright funny, and their comic acts will hAve you in splits.Some of my favourite contestant, from the time I hve been seeing this programn have been NAVEEN PRABHAKAR, RAJU SRIVASTAV, SUNIL PAL, BHAGWANT MANN and there was this very funny man named something like Googi, he is not their in the finals but he was really funny.NAVEEN PRABHAKAR’S mimicked the bar girl(PECHAIN KAUN), extremely well, that was a super act by him, SuNIL PAL’s ’’BHAQTJANO ACT’’was phenomanal, RAJU SRIVASTAV has been good throughout, Bhagwant MANN’s ’’MY BEST FATHER’’was very funny.I feel either SUNIL PAL or NAVEEN PRABHAKAR are gonna win.
So overall the GREAT INDIAN LAUGHTER CHALLENGE is a good show, its a good thing to watch after the long days work, and Also to release your stress..................it comes on FRIDAY NIGHT’’10 TO 11 PM, so people watch it and have a ROLLICKING TIME.
