March 31, 2014 - I try to order a Philips HDMI DVD Player and ask the Greendust customer support team for the Coupon code. They keep me waiting for an entire day and on April 1st, I am finally able to place the order(#22429296). On April 5th, I call them asking why the product status was still showing "under processing." They promise they will ship it by evening. April 5th, they update the tracking status as "SHIPPED" via Aramex(Docket Number - 4789137555).
I try to track the order on Aramex tracking site on April 9th and find that the product is still at the point of origin (Aramex tracking status showed "Received at origin facility"). I call Aramex and they tell me that Greendust has not provided the complete shipping details and therefore the shipment is on hold. I call up Greendust and try to report the matter and the customer service person would not listen (rare response from a customer support team) instead he says he will inform his superior and asks me to wait. I wait. The product is on hold for 7 days. I try tracking the product on Aramex again and on April 11th the shipment status shows "INVALID NUMBER/DATA NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE (which means even Aramex is fed up waiting!". I call Greendust again and asks them why the shipment was on hold and why is it delayed. They reply that the product might be delivered soon! (when they know that the product is still in Bhiwandi- the place from where the product was supposed to be shipped).
So, finally I am forced to accept the reality. "Delay" comes free with every purchase of Greendust. Out of my total 4 earlier purchases 2 shipments were damaged products and the 2 were delayed. So this time around, I dont think I can expect anything better from Greendust.
Even if Greendust is able to sort things out and make Aramex go ahead with their logistics service, I might receive my current order on April 15th (booked on April 1st morning). That will be the earliest as Aramex ships it to Cochin first (will arrive in Cochin on Monday April 14) and from Cochin the shipment gets transported via truck to Kannur(where I am located at).
This review is my humble attempt of saving a few lucky shoppers who stumble by my review page. I am doing my part - saving online shoppers from letting their evergreen patience get burnt in delays. At Greendust, it gets burnt down so fast and so hard that it turns to dust and the dust gets blown away from the wind that is generated from the superfast shopping sites like Flipkart and Tradus!? (that may be the reason why they call it GREENDUST!) So, if you are reading this and if you still happen to shop at Greendust, God help you! I placed an order on April 1st and Greendust made an April fool out of me!
I will be waiting for the shipment it till April 15th, and then I will not accept the shipment and I will request a full refund. I am sure they will delay the refund and that is when I will be registering a complaint on the customer complaint siteCORE. And then I will post the entire sequence of events on the other sites where people can read it and stay clear from the worlds worst online Shopping store - GREENDUST.
