GUDUMBA SHANKAR:Yah! Its Pavan Kalyan

I thought twice about sparing time on writing a review on this film. Finally, I decided not to break my hobby, just because the film is not worth writing about.

Gudumba Shankar: It’s a film with a director, but no direction. The protagonist is a funny thief. The film’s story is robbed from DDLJ, Okkadu and some freaky English films. The protagonist is a freaky maverick and in most parts of the film, he is genderless. As he is on a pointless journey, he comes across a lady who is about to go anywhere or everywhere. Now the irresponsible fool becomes a responsible man because of the mostly used four-letter word: love. And from here onwards, DDLJ is simulated with all the beautiful moments of the original film changed into third-rated comedy. As a climax, the responsible man becomes a tiger-interested-in-laundry, because of the mostly accepted eight-letter word: marriage. He washes off all the villains and saves his wife.

Pavan Kalyan: This film doesn’t have a hero. The protagonist, played by power-star Pavan Kalyan, is the comedian of the film. He is highly successful in generating the third-rated comedy, which was highly essential to make his film a hit. He is equally unsuccessful, in performing the performances of various good actors.

As a screenplay writer, he has a good taste for shot-making. But the emotions necessary are far from the content of his screenplay.

As a choreographer and stunts-man, this film fails to break out his talent.

Others: When the expected hero becomes an unexpected comedian, all the popular comedians have got to remain below their worth. The other actors need no mention.

But…….. There exist three enticing facts of the film:

Music (songs and background) by Mani Sharma will surely impress everyone on repeated listening. And bad direction and worthless choreography makes them unimpressive on screen.

Cinematography by Chota K Naidu is amazing. He chose beautiful locales to get a good feel for the songs. Again bad direction adds pungency to his wonderful work.

Art Direction by Anand Sai is also worth-watching. He surely has lots of art in him. Though far from authenticity, his work is good. And even here…….. the culprit is the same.

At the box-office: The reason for profits on this film exists in the predictions of the makers about the expectation of the fanatics……. and it’s for the lunatics to decide on the fate of the film.

The Last Lines: The difference between my review and the film is that I thought twice before writing the review. Think twice before watching the film.
