The language is simple and pleasing, like other RK books. It is perhaps interesting also like other RK books, but it suffers from a major flaw, or at least that is what I think.
The incidents and a few characters are COMPLETLY unconvincing and unbelievable. It literally kills ones interest while reading the novel. I was shocked when I found that people call it RKs best work till date!
What I found unconvincing :
A servant (Raju) drags our his master from the car and tells him to have dinner.
A girl, from a well to do family, sits by a river, on a night with a servant and discusses her personal life.
The well-to-do girl, instead of going to her fathers house, stays with Railway Raju, after she is deserted by her husband.
Moreover, Rajus age is not mentioned anywhere. One cant even guess whether he is 10 or 30.
I thought Raju was 14 or something, when he became the tourist guide.
Overall : Not so good as other novels
