Its an Government operated hospital, so medical assistance is totally free of cost & they also provide free medicine to most of the persons. But as we all know, what is the status of any government operated office or hospitals are like. So is GTB hospital. The rush in the OPD is too much. I mean people comes early to be first in the queues. You need to be in medical paper queue & they will let you in which room or doctor you need to see according to your problem. Then you again need to a particular number to see doctor, just outsides to the rooms. And then you again need to wait for your number. It very hectic process but as in india half of the population is below poverty line, we are dependent on free medical helps from government. Doctors are good I would say. And GTB premesis only, they do have india’s one of the largest cancer institue too. Thousands of people comes on daily basis to see for medical assistance here. Emergency service also available in the hospital, and quite well.
