Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya is made by Dharmesh Darshan who has made other super hits like Ek Rishta and Raja Hindustani. Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya stars the pretty Karishma Kapoor, the improving Akshay Kumar and the chocolate boy Abhishek Bachchan.
The story is VERY simple and VERY common! Basically Karishma falls in love with Abhishek Bachchan and gets happily married. Everything is Laaa de da till Karishma discovers that Abhishek has cheated on her (Argggg how could he!) and she separates from him. Later she finds a job and her boss happens to be Akshay Kumar (I didnt see that coming!...yes Iam evil I know!). They then plan to get married but all of a sudden they got to this hotel where Abhishek (who needs a shave in this half of the movie) happens to own this hotel. And do I have to carry-on telling whether Karishma marries Akshay or not? O.K just for the slow people...she does not marry Akshay she goes back to the betraying man-Abhishek and everyone is happy (WOW what a twist!)
As you may have started to feel that I did not really like the movie as the storyline was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo simple; plus these sort of movies were made in Rekhas times. In fact Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya is a copy of Rekhas Ek Hi Bhool. Surprise, Surprise!
The only strength of the movie (if there actually is any) is both the music and Akshay Kumars performance. The songs of this movie are decent, but a couple of the songs have just been thrown in for no reason.
Whereas the performance by the actors is concerned, I was very disappointed with Karishma Kapoors acting. After movies like Fiza and Zubeidda, I really started taking a liking to that girl; basically she could have done much better- but it did seem that was just slightly better in the second half. But as mentioned before she could have done better. Abhishek Bachchan was just o.k nothing brilliant, he certainly does not possess the Amitabh Bachchan magic-thats for sure. Plus Dharmesh Darshans direction was just poor as he did not really work on the actors acting and just threw in songs here and there.
Overall, I was disappointed with this movie. It is just a time-pass sort of thing, and you can only actually watch it once. But if you can, then do not really even bother with this flick as it is just wasting your time; after all lifes too short to waste for these types of flicks.
