For starters , please dont judge any movie based on their starcast . Puhleeeese !! Because if you do , then I dont think Haasil is the movie you should be watching Yes , Haasil is a love story , but hey , its a different movie . Its a moving narration of a boy , who studies in this university , which is full of fraud , ’’ bhaigiri ’’ as I may call it. Soon , the boy , played by Jimmy Shergill , falls in love with a girl called ’’ Niharika ’’ , played by Hrishita Bhat ( who luks really cute in the movie ) .
Due to adverse conditions the boy , who is a stage actor , gets entangled in a gang of gangsters , who use his innocence to control his love life. Irfaan who plays the villain in the movie , is the head of the gang . And the story goes on and on and keeps you glued to the screen.
Funny punch lines tickle your ribs quiet often. Although there is a moderate quantity of violence involved , it doesnt effect you much , as the violence is a part of the skin of the movie.Love scenes , romance , are also omnipresent throughout the movie , but not stretched like a chewing . This fact is one of the factors for the audience not yawning in the theatre. The music is nothing to be proud of . Jatin Lalit should put their thinking caps on and start scratching their heads in wonder analysing where they went wrong. The answer would be ’’ EVERYWHERE ’’ . The music is a humengous negetive factor hindering the business of the whole movie.
Lucky for the actors and the the whole crew, that the film is out at a very obnoxious time for the film industry.Although it doesnt have much of competion , it has Armaan to face . However , the rating given in papers , has skyrocketed its business than its expected toll. eg. Times Of India has given this film a rating of , which is half a * more than Armaan , which has a much better starcast.
Jimmy Shergill has given a sparkling performance , which reveals sparks of this man’s gutsy determination . Hrishitta Bhat , surprisingly or not so surprisingly , has given a very appreciative performance for a new-bee novice in the film industry. Although she doesnt have too many dialogues , she has grabbed her oppurtunity with both hands.Irfaan is the star attraction of the movie . Irfaan , who has been quiet sucessfull in tele serials , has given one hell of a performance. He is sure to be in contention for the best villain award this year . Rest of the crew have done moderately well.The characters in the movie are very funny . The word ’’ sarcasm ’ has been given a whole new dimension through this movie .

RELEASE DATE: May. 16, 2003 Although ’’ Haasil ’’ has not been given a lot of publicity , the current prospects of the film looks good . A good break for the young and budding actors ! Al in all , Haasil is a realistic movie , with great characters , which is great fun to watch with friends , maybe not family . errr....
