Half Girlfriend is a novel by Chetan Bhagat released on 1 October 2014. The story is about a boy Madhav who puts up in Bihar and has come to Delhi to take admission in a Delhi University College. He meets a girl Riya on the first day of college.
The story revolves around the protagonist Madhav how he falls in love with Riya, then he forces her for a relationship but she only agrees to be his half-girlfriend. He wanted more so he pushes her but she leaves him for his Bihari attitude. Later on she marries a childhood family friend and Madhav goes back to his village after completing his education. The story turns around when they meet again in Patna. The novel also paints the Bill Gates school trip to Bihar, India back in 2009.
