Location: 1.5 Km from Khushal Nagar. The road is a mud road. In a way it is good
because it gives feeling of rustic place while travelling. Building: The
building is two storey - star shaped building with one room at each corner of
the star and the fifth corner is kitchen. It is made of red brick and the look
and feel are real rural. One of the room on the ground floor is painted as a
jungle hut from inside. Because we went as six couples - we occupied six of the
available eight rooms. Hospitality: The staff was very helpful. The manager gave
us a TO-DO and TO-VISIT list on arrival. The camp-fire(complimentary in the
package) was good. One of the staff was playing "dafali" and singing kannada
folk/film songs. The dinner was served in the garden itself accompanied with the
ongoing camp-fire. On request they also arranged milking a cow for one of our
team enthusiast. Also on request couple of ladies from their staff came with a
few saris and helped the ladies in our group to get dressed into a traditional
coorgi outfit. Cost: For latest cost - you can google "Halli mane homestay
coorg". We visited for 1500/- per night with breakfast. I guess if you call
directly and negotiate - it would be less in off season. Other Factors: 24 hours
hot water was available. Milk, honey and tea they served were very fresh. Milk
was cow-milk . they have cows in their farm house. Staff was helpful enough to
respnd if we ask for tea/coffee/honey/milk in the night even after 10pm.
