"HAMPI" A World Heritage Site

Hampi is a world heritage site. It’s in Karnataka in India. this place is most Historical place in India. this place is an important religious centre, temples and other monuments belonging to the old city.


The name "HAMPI" is an anglicised version of the Kannadda name Hampe. The ruin of Hampi were discovered in 1800.


The site is significant historically and architecturally. The landscape abounds with large stones which has been used to make Statues. Hampi is situated on the banks of Tungabhadra River. Hampi has verious notable Hindu temples with some vedanta teology inside the temples, some of which are still active places of worship.
