Hampi is centrally located to eastern and western ghats easily accessible I guess the reason why the king 500 years ago choose to make it trade centre and develop it as a trade centre.
If you see the ruins and try to understand the architect then the physical making of these huge structure is one thing but the thinking and planning that goes in was enormous.
Night market is another attraction, here you can find lot of trendy stuff with huge antique collection.
But actual taste of hampi starts on hippy side or other side of the river. One can go there by ferry, big basket boat or by swimming and jumping on the small rocks.
Visiting other side is lil spiritual mostly international tourists, nice music shop and restaurants where you can eat best Israeli food in India. The sunset point on other side is a spot to hang out in evening.
On other-side you can also visit hanuman temple after climbing 525 stairs. Oh also get professional training of rock climbing and party.
