My wife and I had an experience of a life time. The moment I dipped into the icy cold waters of the Ganges, I felt my sins had been washed away and my body too felt very clean and pure even without the use of soap. I felt as if I were at the threshold of heaven being at the Hari-dwar.
From there the panaromic view of the hills on the once side, the temples of the other and the rope way car to the hill top temple was breath-taking. Once on top I could not believe my eyes and wondered if I were in India or in some foreign country and wondered why Indians flock to other countries when we have rich heritage in our own country.
As I came out the icy waters, reluctantly of course, I could only laugh at myself for asking the guide if warm water would be available.
I salute my country, India for the most lovely mountains, rivers, valleys and holy places. Jai Hind. Long live India.
