I agree with Hermione’s review, this book follows on from the first book of J K Rowling. The laughs and thrills continue… for example instead of a birthday party, Harry and friends go to Headless Nick’s 100 Deathday party with a morbid offering of rotten fish, cakes and cheese covered in furry green mould and to top it all a grey cake in the shape of a tombstone.
My favourite bit was when Dobby introduced himself to Harry and Dobby created problems for Harry after he refused to take Dobby’s advice of not to go back to Hogwarts. To escape, Harry and Hedwig (the owl who delivers Harry’s mail) was rescued by Ron taking a ride in a flying car back to Ron’s house until Harry is able to start the second year at Hogwarts.
I am now reading the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the 4th book….the next review will be on the 3rd book.
Happy reading.
