**Where do I begin? This is what JKR might have thought while writing this book……** Harry Potter series is unlike any other books…They are a phenomenon. Seven books over a span of 10 years.10 years is a long time. **Some of us have grown up with these books, with Harry.** The journey, which Harry started at the age of 11, for his magical education comes to an end. For me, these books have been very important. I have read, got involved with these books for the past 7 years. Also, learnt a lot.
The end of the series is going to leave a vacuum, not only for me, but a lot of other fans also. The foundation had been laid and the stage was set for the last battle by the previous 6 books.
**The Plot:- The dark lord is back** and is more powerful then ever! He has large number of **death eaters, magical creatures and also some of the ministry people at his command**. His obedient followers have deeply infiltrated each and every section of the magical world. He is fearless and crueler, than he ever was, now that Dumbledore is dead and his path is clear to finish the incomplete task he left years ago, **to kill Harry Potter and fulfill the prophecy**. At Privet Drive, Harry convinces the Dursleys to move to a safer place(to avoid them from being harmed by Voldermort). Dursleys agree and some of the members from the Order take them to safety. Harry is supposed to be moved to the Burrow very securely.
A very secret and clever plan is in place for this. The best aurors and the important order members come to es*ort him. However, Voldermort somehow knows the plan and a bloody battle ensues between the death eaters and the order. Somehow Harry is brought to safety, but not without the lose of one of the important member of the order and couple of others gravely injured.Harry feels a pang of guilt, as this all happened while saving him. Meanwhile Harry is left with the task, which Dumbledore assigned to him. To find the remaining Horcruxes of the dark Lord and destroy them, ultimately leading to the fall of Voldermort’s regime. He spends his remaining holidays at the Burrow(with the weasleys).
The Weasleys are **geared up for the big wedding in the family, Bill and Fleur**. Harry has decided that he would **attend the wedding and then will take off for his, dangerous and adventurous, journey for the quest of the remaining Horcruxes.** Ron and Hermione are determined that they will assist Harry in this task. They all have decided to drop off from Hogwarts. Mrs. Weasley is not happy about this. The death eaters don’t spare the wedding. They attack the venue. There is a chaos. The guests have to disapparate to safety. Hermione takes Ron and Harry out of danger.
But, somehow the death eaters track them to a café, where they are sitting after their escape from the wedding. However, the trio of Harry, Ron and Hermione prove to be more skilled and they overpower the death eaters. After getting a message from Mr. Weasley, that all’s well at the wedding and no ones hurt, the trio embarks their quest for the Horcruxes.
From here on the story takes lots of twists and turns. Harry does not know how to find the remaining Horcruxes. He feels frustrated that Dumbledore didn’t give him more information. The trio tries to pursue each and every clue, which they think could lead them to remaining Horcruxes. Slowly, but they do come to know about remaining Horcruxes and as to what objects they are. And also, they **stumble upon one of the ancient myth about three powerful magical objects, known as Deathly Hallows.
**
During all this the connection between Harry and Voldermort gets stronger, enabling Harry to see through Voldermort’s mind.
**In the remaining story, lot is revealed about the deathly Hallows, Dumbledore’s life and yes Severus Snape.**
The final showdown has whole of the order and all others who support Harry at one side and Voldermort’s cruel army at the other. Definitely, magically, Harry is no match for Voldermort. But, as Dumbledore predicted, it’s his other qualities that would help him triumph over Voldermort.
**JKR’s writing**: -There’s no doubt now that JKR is an amazing writer. Writing a conclusion to the series, which is like an epic is no simple task. I m sure the hand holding the pen would have shivered of nervousness, when she planned to pen this book. **She doesn’t let down the fans.
**
The book is a “page turner” from the word GO. It will make you curious about what’s going to happen next. It sustains interest till the very last pages. Some of the best written portions would be:- **1. The confrontation between the Order and the Death eaters, while they are moving Harry to the Burrow.
2. Dobby’s return and how he helps Harry out of a tight situation…Amazingly written(the whole chapter).
3. The truth about Dumbledore.
4. Severus Snape’s story(convincing)…
5. And of course the penultimate battle between the good and the evil.**
**Overall this is, what I think, an apt conclusion.** Though, it’s **not devoid of some negative points.** Everyone expected this one to be a lot darker, regards to its plot, but it’s not so.
Apart from Harry, Ron and Hermoine, **none of the characters have been developed satisfyingly in the last book. Neville, Luna, Lupin, Mad-Eye, Tonks and even the most lovable Hagrid. **They dont have much to do.Though, it is portrayed at the end, couple of them fighting bravely and standing upto Voldermort, the impact is missing. Maybe JKR put more emphasis on Harry.
Also the book seems to contradict some of the things what JKR told in her interviews(telling those diversions, may give away a lot of things). **Even after the conclusion of the series, there are some unanswered questions, which seem not so important, though some of the fussiest Potter fans are bound to complain.
**
**All in all a great series come to an end, but in style and very satisfyingly!**
