Travelling for vegetarians becomes difficult in terms of food in places where non veg is served at each corner. I am thankful to haveli, salt lake for providing the best quality of veg. food in kolkata.
M from delhi and last year, the weekend destination of my family was kolkata. Being a vegetarian we had to hunt a lot to get good food. They generally have fish and non veg on the table in kolkata.
So it became a good trip without food but then we saw a restaurant serving veg food in salt lake area. That time we were on the way to airport for our return flight to delhi. We were hungry so we left early to have food before reaching the airport.
Haveli was a nice place with good and clean ambience inside it. The tables were wooden and very nicely decorated. It was a little less spacious but not too much. The staff was helpful and polite.
We ordered dinner with a variety that included missi roti, daal makhni, salad, butter roti, fried rice, shahi paneer and curd.
Quantity: The quantity of food was just perfect at the price they charged us.
Quality: It is a very good point that vegans can find really good quality food at haveli. Missi roti were the best in taste and quality.
Price: The price are reasonable keeping in mind the quality and quantity. But you can find it just a bit expensive which is not a big deal when you are getting the food of your choice. Otherwise eat cheap non veg food. Lolz.
Location: The location is salt lake which is a good area with a quite good crowd. Car parking is not so difficult.
Guddies: M a big fan of Paan. There is a small shop outside haveli where a man sells mitha paan which is of high quality and tasty.
Staff courtesy: we were getting late to catch our flight so we requested the manager to serve us quickly and to our surprise they cooperated a lot.
Overall, it was a great dinner at haveli and I would like to visit there again.
