I have been using the Hawkins regular pressure cooker for the last four years and recently upgraded to it’s Futura model. It’s a little pricey compared to other cookers. Also, I was little apprehensive when the dealer told me that it does not operate on whistles but you need to time your cooking. It . But, I was truly happy after using it for a few times. You get adjusted to the non whistle system. Actually speaking, this is more convenient.
It cooks really fast compared to other cookers. I have a one year old baby, and I need the food to be cooked very well so that I can mash and serve him. This cooker does a wonderful job. Even very small quantity of food gets cooked well. Most important, I can release the pressure within 2 minutes and take out the food. Also, since there are no whistles my kid does not wake up when he is asleep:-).
The only drawback I find is that the containers that you get with the cooker are too small to cook food to even two people. In my old cooker, I can cook rice and dhal together. But I can’t do this here.
Overall, it’s a good investment.
