I recently heard HCL is launching their own laptops, though they are already successfully selling Toshiba Laptops/Notebooks.
The idea has amazed me that despite this launch of their own laptops, there is no direct competition between both of them internally.
Viz. Toshiba is into high-end ones, which are really quite costly, though are real value for money, with one being used be me too.
Now I was needing one for my staff. And approached various PC dealers in Sikkim for something a bit cheaper. Again I somehow landed up buying one from HCL Store Gangtok (Sikkim), by coming across HCL-Centrino-P4. What amazed me was that at a price of Rs.44, 990/- (Sept05 cost) it has everything, which any other company is offering for Rs.50, 000/-++. The mobile technology, card reader, CD RW/DVD player, 40 GB Hard Disc, 256 MB RAM etc.
At the time when once I suffered using HCL-Infinity, then later became a happy customer of HCL-Beanstalk.
Now I am again happy with this new HCL Laptop. Surely great value for money.
