Three to four years back when HDFC Bank just started, it was one of the excellent bank I had come across. The main reason why many including myself chose to bank was their excellent technological edge.
They offered ATM, Internet banking and so on.
But now they are loosing the edge. There are many banks who offer the same services. These include nationlised, private and cooperative banks also!!!.
HDFC never had the concept of service with smile. They heavility relied on their technology to attract the customers.
But now as the edge is with every one, HDFC would not be definately among the best banks in the years to come.
I would recommend any small bank with technological edge. It could be Bank of Rajasthan, UTI Bank.
HDFC is unable to cope with the load and is now bening towards ’’ nationalised Bank Like SErvices’’
