I am having a tough time with HDFC bank cc devision. Thanks to their pathetic customer service and commitment levels . Last 2-3 months lot of fraud transaction happened in US so thought of changing my few years old CC. That is where my ordeal started. I read that EMV chip cards are safer than the normal ones. I checked their website, read news about EMV chip cards. Everywhere HDFC bank was claiming to have chip cards and boasting big initiatives they have taken to change the cards of the existing premium category CC to chip cards. Their website now has only chip cards photos.
Thought that I had taken the card few years back when chip cards were not available but now everybody will be issued EMV card. I was wrong. These guys are not issueing chip cards. After a long wait I was given normal card. When confronted, got to know that they do not issue chip card as replacement card, I need to raise a request for the upgrade( as if I am asking for the gold) . Mail after mail, request no after request no. Nothing is moving. I sent an email narrating my story to their customerservices.cards@hdfcbank.com and grievance. redressalcc@hdfcbank.com on 23Feb and today is 31 March.
No sign of card yet. I have already moved on to other CC card given by other bank which is more competent than HDFC.
HDFC Bank : Please do not fool customer by showing chip cards everywhere but giving normal cards.
