Hi guys, I know u haven?t heard from me in a while, so that?s why i’m writing my review on a movie not so many people have heard of before...well many of my friends haven?t. But anyways...
Henna is the story about a girl called henna (Zeba Bhakhtiyar); however, the movie also revolves around the lives of Chander Prakash (Rishi Kapoor) and chandini (Ashwini Bhave).
The story is opened by showing the viewers the life of chandini and Chander who are in love with each other and are just about to have their engagement. We are shown how chandini is totally opposite to Chander; she is an organised young woman, whereas he doesn?t even have a watch to tell him the time! The sweet thing which is probably why chandini loves him is because of the affectionate side of him and how he calls chandini ?chand? during the song ?main dehr karta nahin.?
After this song the viewers see how chandini?s father finds out about Chander. The two men meet and because of chander?s character and sense of humour, her father agrees to let them get married, but just as we think that everything is going to be okay between the middle and the end disaster strikes!!.
On the night of the engagement, there is a storm and Chander falls off the edge of a cliff, while on his way to chandini’s house. Chandini is really frustrated as she doesn?t know where he is so she sings the song ? dehr na hojaye kahin? .
After this song, we see Chander being carried by the river through to Pakistan.
In Pakistan we see all the villagers who live near the river getting up, while doing this they are singing a song, this is the song which introduces henna ?main hoon kush rang henna?. When henna gets to the river she sees Chander in the water al bloody from where he has been hit, and screams. This alerts all the villagers and they hurry to henna?s ?rescue?.
When they get there they ask henna what happened. Henna points out Chander to her father, who is also the ?wise old leader/chief? of the village. When they find out that Chander is still breathing, so is alive. They take him back to the village, where he is cured, but not totally as he looses his memory. After regaining consciousness. The villagers think that Chander is called chand. During the time in the village, henna and ?chand? fall in love with each other, while chandini is mourning over chander?s ?death?. As none of her family can find him anywhere.
As henna and Chander are about to get married, chander?s memory comes back. And so the wedding is called off, but the police take Chander away as they think he is a spy from India in disguise.
In the end henna frees Chander from the prison, there are many deaths in which hennas brother, ashraf, (kiran kher) dies. In the end henna meets Chander with chandini but , beforehand, there is a breakout at the borders of Pakistan and India and to save Chander henna protects him and gets shot herself.
