I along with my wife and 4 month old son went to Heritage village club from 1st May to 4th May and had a nice time out there. We had booked the design room and it was a very nice room with a balcony facing the swimming pool.
Their concept of an all inclusive package is superb and you can just whenever you feel have something to eat or drink. This is one of the rare place where even alcoholic drinks are included in the package and though there is a restriction on house brands, I can guarantee you that you still have amazing choices. The best thing to have are their cocktails and liqueur (especially the mint falvour). The food and mid meal snacks are also very good. They normally have 2 non-veg main course included in the lunch and dinner buffet.
The beach is just a five minutes walk from the hotel (Arrosim bach) but the beach is completely secluded there is absolutly nothing on the beach except a few people from the hotel itself who go there for a swim. This property is very close to the airport but very far from the main tourist attractions of goa. There are taxis available right outside the hotel with all their tarriffs clearly displayed in the hotel as well as outside. Must say the hotel staff is also very helpfull and nothing is too much trouble for them.
Firstly the lady Deepthi (Select hotels - Andheri, Mumbai office) with whom I co-ordinated for making the booking was very nice to talk to and told us all the details of the hotel truthfully (Like the hotel is not beach front property and there are no bath tubs etc.) even without us enquiring about such details and then there were 2 ladies Sezella and Fatima at the hotel reception who were very understanding (My wife would have had to feed my son while on the complimentary city tour and my wife requested Sizella to find out if any such facility was available at any of the tourist spots. She immediately called the guide and enquired about the same and informed us that the guide will do the needful and provide my wife with the privacy needed in the bus itself while the other guests would have gone out sightseeing at any of the spots whenever she needed to feed the baby). Similarly we requested Fatima for a late checkout as it would have been very difficult for us to mange with the baby without a room for 2 hours and she imediately agreed.
The sight seeing tour is not upto the mark they give you very little time at all the spots - you get of the bus hardly reach the spot and have to comeback to the bus. There is practically no time for shopping. They do mention that they will take you to Panjim for shopping but they actually take you to the car park across the river Mandovi cruise point and there are just two shops out there - one which sells Cashews and one which sells liquor. You are forced to buy from these two shops if you have not gone shopping on your own. The cruise is good.
The hotel swimming pool is nice and clean. They also have a TT table and pool table in the basement. TT is free while there is a charge for pool.
The only disappointing thing in the hotel is the entertainment that they claim they have every day. They do have a list of programs mentioned for all the days but nothing except the evening stuff actually takes place.
To summarize the hotel is very good if you only want to relax at the hotel and not roam around in Goa a lot. Food mostly indian and very well made. City tour and day entertaiment - disappointing. Hope this review helps all you readers and travellers make your choice. You are surely to put on some weight with all the wonderful food and drinks you have out there. :)
