This is for all those guys who have stood by their fav steed the original King :CBZ
I had bought my cbz back in Aug99 for a premium then n it still zzzzoooms n how
Of course not neglecting the current competition I should say that the Cbz is left behind in some quarters. But this is the best bike which lends itself to numerous mods. So dont worry and be happy heres a list of what u can do:
_______________________________________________________________________
WARNING : NOW THIS IS NOT TO BE DONE BY ANY ROADSIDE PERSON, keep this in mind or he may screw up the job. Get an experienced hand to do the job.
Engine : The most important factor in keeping you ahead at all times is this engine.
FIRST LEVEL
Get ur engine Ported n polished by a good knowledgeable person, it improves torque by a great deal. It would cost u around Rs.1500-2000/- but its worth the money spent. And a free flow can (dont get fooled by just those which make a lot of noise n get the pipe mandrel-bent)------
SECOND LEVEL
Now gettin into serious stuff:
If u still crave for more power get the 2nd oversize pistons n bore the cylinder out. No reliability problems at all (Ive been using it for 2 years now). This is a damn sexy engine n adapts very well. Get the flywheel polished too for very good pick-up.-----------
THIRD N FINAL LEVEL:
The last n final Upgrade (only suggested for die-hard freaks):
The piston for the karizma is 2mm up on the CBZs n it is the easiest upgrade u can do. The cbz cylinder can take this with still sufficient wall thickness left. I would suggest u buy an old used cylinder from chor-bazaar(mumbai) n get the work done on it (just in case something goes wrong) get it bored n polished n ported with polished crankhafts n rods and some new parts like timing chain (its expensive, larger Karizma valves n what you have in ur garage will in most probability be the fastest Indian bike.
haha what pulsar wheres it ;-)---------------
Ive done upto the second level n am in process for the third level, with second level upgrade I can ( I do it regularly) screw up a Pulsar 180 on the highway n the feeling is just amazing.
Ill keep u all updated on this,
The Second Level is an add on on the First level but the THIRD is completely different, normal users will be happy to use a second level machine but we can always crave for more ;-)
Happy Riding,
Shakeb.
Tyres, Wheels, Brakes, Lighting, Suspension is in the making Ill post it soon.
