The best bike for mileage

I am a Software Engineer and though I could afford a car I purchased Hero Honda CD Deluxe Cast(Alloy) wheels for RS41000 on road and now the dial reads 586 kms I purchased on 14th Aug and did my first service on 485 kms. Till date I have not had any trouble and when I purchased I rode itat 40km/hr for the first 300kms and then a 50-60 km/hr till 520kms.

Then I have gone on highways at 85km/hr without any problems and really enjoyed the ride. One thing that I would like to mention here is that all the cars owners(i also have but keep in parked)are stopping because of bad traffic almost on all Indian roads and I zip past them easily and effortlessly. Before the first service I was getting a mileage of 55-60kmpl but now I am geting the mileage of 70-80 kmpl and enine sound is smooth. single or duble riding busy traffic handling overtaking cars scooters even karizmas not a problem coz more than the cc rating of bike it is the riders capability that steers him out of traffic.

UPDATEOn July 19th it is going to be about 2 years. till now I have driven the bike in all possible conditions so here I am giving the second review.

Driving in the city traffic with frequent start and stops the bike gives 60kmpl which is quite decent. On the highway it gives 80 kmpl. driving single or double just doesnt make any difference.

Now the meter reading is 10900 kms and some problems that I have encountered are:--

  1. 4 puntures so had to change the rear tube for Rs 150.

  2. 4 rear taillamp bulb fuses had to change for Rs 10 each.

My bike color is deep red so after bike washing by shampoo and water and wax polish it looks brand new and shiny.

One thing that I would like to mention here is that the ground clearance of this bike is 165mm which is with 18inch alloy wheels gives it a superp road grip. Now since most of the roads are it has the advantage over premium bikes. On speed breakers I can jump the bike with no problems. The handling and breaking of this bike is excellent and has saved my life many times.

Front and rear tyres still look like new. Also it is advisable not to park the bike on direct sunlight as it causes the color to fade away. Now also starts with one kick.

I am maintaining 42psi rear and 32 psi front against the advisable 41psi rear and 25psi front for better road comfort. Also I would adivse everyone to get the dikki fixed as it helps in carrying the stuff. I am due to service now.
