Reliable and value for money

It was two months back. My Fiero(KS) was declared dead by service centre and I was finding a customer to sale it. I had spent a lot of money on Fiero and was definitely furious by its failure. I was looking for a site to pent off my anger and I came across this site. MS is a wonderful site for consumers!

It was time for doing fresh bike research and I must complement MS for helping me out. I am a mechanical engineer by profession and hence definitely bike specifications and advancements attract me. My office is only 3 kms from my house and I prefer a bike for daily commuting. I short listed few bikes like Discover, Unicorn , Pulsar etc. I did not include Splendor in my list because it seemed over priced! However on MS I read few reviews on CT 100 and HH CD Dwan. I started researching these too.

For family purpose I use my car. So my requirements were 1. light weight and good handling, 2. Good mileage 3. Easy maintenance and 4. Reliability and 5. Resale value.

CD dawn fulfilled my requirement without stressing my pocket! CD Dawn is an entry level bike and it was really a difficult decision to go for it obviously because of social reasons. However the more I thought of it the more this bike seemed a quality decision.

CD Dawn has the same engine, gears etc. that Splendor has but is approximately Rs 9000 cheaper . Over the years Splendor has proved its worth and it was the most interesting affair.

Let’s come to the bike itself.

Its specification matches that of Splendor’s.

Handling, breaking, shockers etc are excellent.

I got 52km/litre before 1st servicing and sure that it will finally settle around 60-65 km/litre.

Its engine is a gem! Cool, calm and very reliable.

Gear shifting is quite smooth.

Increasing market pressure has brought much improvement in its build quality , paint quality and plastic quality. It is much better than what it used to be six months back.

Head light is good and night driving is comfortable.

Its resale value is among the best and its maintenance is among the lowest.

It comes with two years of warranty.

The only thing I did not like was its seat. It is not so comfortable and I feel for long distances it is not good. However for city driving it is okay.

In entry level segment I was much impressed by CT100. However the engine which has performed so reliably for years was the reason I went for CD Dawn.

It doesn’t have the looks of splendor or performance of Unicorn/Discover etc but at 34000/ ( on road), what this bike offers is definitely value for money.

This bike doesn’t have many advance features but still it is good on economy and gentle in performance. Further, no advance features means least and easiest maintenance too.

Overall it is a good bike and really good and fulfils the promises.

One of the best part of this bike is its handling. It is too good. CD Dawn has made city driving much comfortable. While driving Fiero, I some time felt pain in my sholdures. However, driving this bike seems quite effortless and I have never experienced such pain again.
