here I m back with another review as few guys dont want me to (as my review on UNI created much controversies) and this time I m here to create some fighting in 125 cc segment.
well this aint actually a review on glamour but a comparo between 125 cc majors thats the GLAMOUR, DISCOVER, FAZER(new) and the VICTOR glx125.
but before reading PLZ try to understand this 3 factors
many of us praise the bike we irrespective of its ability. come on yaar be a genuine bike lover and praise that bike which is really capable and not those that u own or thats of urs bike manufacturer.
if u read OVERDRIVE and trust on it than do me a favour and read my review on overdrive before trusting on that.
I m assuming that the GLAMOUR is actually a SUPER SLENDOR with new cloths
its nonsense to include FREEDOM prima125( now its owner here want to kill me)
i m a very lazy guy so cant type much so I will include all points in a short manner
THE very first criteria is looks of a bike and thats something on which I cannt comment as they variable.some may like DISCOVER some FAZER someGLAMOUR or some the simple sober VICTOR 125
i like the FAZER much in terms of its looks (new version both naked and fairing one)
my second choice is GLAMOUR third DISCOVER last the VICTOR but thats me.
PERFORMANCE lets start the controversial part....
to explain the performances I will consider two senario
scene 1 in a traffic light race all bikes are with solo rider
certainly as most of us know its the DISCOVER and FAZER that will go nose to nose or with some marginal difference(DISCO winning) followed by GLAMOUR and VICTOR goin together or with marginal difference
secene 2 here each bike is two up
as expected its the DISCOVER thats adhead of all followed by GLAMOUR than VICTOR and than FAZER!!!!!! I dunno y it is so but most yamaha 4-stroke bike are like this (libero loses its power completely with two up)
i know many fazer owner wont like this but what can be done as no takes care of such kind problems while testriding and realizes long after buying the bike
i know most guys here wont agree here about this performance of GLAMOUR but lets make it clear that the GLAMOUR or SUPER SPLENDOR’s engine is very capable developed by HONDA in full yrs.
HANDLING ....... its the fazer that rules in this area next DISCOVER (for short rider) than GLAMOUR than VICTOR than again DISCOVER (with tall rider)
FUEL EFFICIENCY ........ thats is something in the mind of those engg. who made GLAMOUR’s engine. and in this field this bike has no competition.its the most efficient bike here and can deliever 10kmpl more than any other bike here.
what r these figs ? well they vary from rider to rider and can go upto max of 75 kmpl and min as much as u want. well commonly in region of 67-68 kmpl
these rest of the bikes delievers almost same figs and commonly in region of 58-62kmpl.

these are those major criteria usually taken in consideration while buying a bike
and by these logic DISCOVER wins the comparo
but lets consider some more points
the discover engine is not at all refined compared to others and is certainly much harsher than others.
the discover is only for short rider and tall guys looks like MONKEY ON A DONKEY
the discover styling is too odd and no of everyone liking
the VICTOR is too mature like and lags in almost every feild. actually nothing is wrong with it and its the completition that has moved ahead.
the FAZER here is a relauched version which is exactly same as older except new looks. it was supposed to be a fuel injected one but considering its the same old fazer.
so fazer and victor are no where near winner crown ( controversial I know)
but if I was forced to buy a bike 125 cc segment it is definately the FAZER
but this doesnt mean that I will stupidly praise fazer
now the competition is now between the discover and the glamour
well lets put it in this way
----- if u want a fast quick bike and want to use it for not more than 5 yrs than its definately the DISCOVER (if it matchs ur height )
----- if u want a real reliable, highly efficient bike and powerful enough to leave 100-110 cc behind and overtaking other vehicle with loads of styling and upmarket feel than its the GLAMOUR
(it was SUPER SPLENDOR it was never in a winning league just cos of looks- a huge factor)
so actually both wins the shootout
now what if u are a tall guy and want a fast bike ????????
well cross ur finger and pray honda next bike (which is 125 cc) is for u due by november
or if u think KINETIC is in game than wait for velocity 125 coming in next 3 months
or wait for the legendry suzuki to launch its bike by march 2006
