I think it was a very good decision from my side to go for HH Hunk. Even though they are not very good at marketing a bike, they are still the best bike makers. Its a foolish decision if we make the decision according to somemania introduced by the bike makers itself or some uncanny stunt scenes performed by other experts hmm. I didnt make the mistake of missing out a good bike, which was not marketed well.
Well talking about my HUNK, Candy Blazing Red in color( color totally my moms choice and not a matter of my concern).
My requirements were, a 150 CC bike, with silent engine, which can ensure a 45-50 km/l in city. I excluded pulsur from the list, since the lasting of bike and the maintenance are so poor, as I think. The bike will look so old, even after an year and we can experience that in riding too. I am not claiming that wont happen for HUNK, but a HH bike has a minimum guarantee, :-) Because of the same reason I excluded Apache also.
There were no much factors to differentiate between HUNK and UNICORN. Then, the factors that took me to the decision were handling(which is far better for HUNK - may be because I am short guy), Look(No doubt - Hunk is King in styling)
My Hunk is 3 weeks old and my first service is over in a week itself, with 500 Kms. Now it has run 800 kms
Handling
Pros.
At any point of time there id 100% control over the handle.:-) . I had this kind of handling only in Karizma and in Pulsur. Its far far better than Unicorn. The riders seat is so big, so that I can ride in any position, by leaning more to front or in steady position. In any position riding is a heaven. Also the control over the handle is more, so that in very low speed also we can manage the bike so easily. The disc break give good confidence at any speed, but has a small sound like the breaking sound in movies hreeee.
Cons.
The position of riders seat is bit higher than other bikes which can a problem to very short people.(I am not toooo short hi hi)
Milege
I was getting more than 50 kmpl when I ride bike at optimum speed. I havent had a long trip so cant say about that.
Confort
The rider get 100% confort. Suspension is so good and also as I said before, riders seat position give the rider max comfort. I had no problem even after riding for 3 hours continuously. The pillion seat is higher than any other bike. To my friends, they feel like sitting on a tree:-) . But they felt its ok but will be a problem to lean to front. I cant say anything about a long ride comfort in pillion seat. These are all opinion from boys perspective(since am still to have a gal friend:-( )
cons.
Its headlamp is really a headache to me. I dont know the problem of city drive or not. Anyways it doesnt provide enough light for me to ride 100% confidently in night.
Engine
Even if its a silent engine, its not that so called silent at higher RPMs. Overtaking is just a breeze with this 4 bphp engine, and the shape of the bike which can extract the max power from the engine. Till 70 km/h we dont know whether bike is moving or not. that smooth. But after that now I have a bad vibration. When I asked about other hunk owners, the said will be ok after riding 1000-1500 kms.
Gear Shifting
No doubt. Hero Honda bikes give some headache in case of gear shifting always. From the very first day sometimes it wont go from 4th to 3rd continuesly which got resolved after 1st service. But I cound find out a solution also soon. In transitions 5-3 continuously, Release the clutch a bit before shifting to 4-3, then it wil go easily. Also the gear is bit tight, but I dont consider that as a problem.
Summary-
I would always show a green signal to anybodys decision to go for a HUNK. In my review I pointed more cons than pros. If your requirement is a powerful, faster bike with fair milege, 100% in handling powered by fatastic look just go and book your HUNK now. Your bike will be young even after 2 years. I talked to the Bangalores first HUNK owner last day who is very happy with his pal and the bike still looks new. Just go for itttttttttttttttttttttttttt.I have got thrilled on seeing gals look at my bike(still nobody looks at me:-() from the pillion seats of other bikes, when my HUNK overtake them as a breeze.
