This is my first review abt a product that I dont own myself.
Bt after riding my friends HUNK for more than 100 kms, i felt lyk putting forward my views.
In my riding, it was almost 70% on gud roads(NH) n 30% on bumpy ones(city pot holes).
Now directly coming to the POINT,
pros:
1) COMFERT:thats the part, where I was jst blown away.its a bike, where u can cruise for miles n miles, without bieng tired, without body aches, back pain n all.exceptional rear shocks, which absorbs every bump within itself.Thats y I named it a real touring spirit.
2)MILAGE:its another feature, where I was surprised.i never believed, that such aheavy machine can deliver a milage of almost around 60 kmpl.[NOW, isnt it a real tourer?]
3)PICK UP:a gud pick up always brings smile on the rider’s face.its as gud as the CBZ EXTREME, even though it weighs more than 7 kgs than extreme.
4)STABILITY:ride it at 100 kmph, n u wld know, the advantage of the heavy weight.The stability & breaking, both r better due to the wieght.
cons:
1)GEARBOX:now, the most dissapointing aspect.why cant they borrow the gear box of honda unicorn?the gears really sucks.its 2 hard, that I felt the pain in my toe the next two days, had it rode it more, i think, I should hve damaged my shoes.u always need to wear a boot 2 ride this bike.Even my APACHE RTR 180 has better gearbox.On high ways, it wont matter, bt in cities, u ll feel the pain.
2)HANDLING:well, this is not that big problem, bt my yamaha gladiator handles much better than this(i hve touched my knees while cornering, in my GLADI with confidence).hunk not at all suitable for sharp cornering.though tyres r much better.Bt all total it feels like somthing could hve been better.ITS 2 SCARY AT turns.though great for highways.
3)TOP END PERFORMANCE:this is the point, where the HUNK fails .its not at all a performance bike.though u feel, the pick up is gud initially, btafter 60 kmph, it looses the power, well, i think the heavy weight is responsible for this.may b a bit more BHP & TORQUE wld hve helped. But its wonderful till 60-70kmph.THEN, all 150cc bikes in this catagory can beat the hunk.
4)ENGINE SOUND:this is a personal view though, bt I like the sound of the pulsar(sounds like a superbike, when in gud condition), the yamaha sounds really macho.n the high rewing engines of apache, also feels gud.bt the hunk sounds neither sweet, nor strong.it sounds like a "JUICER GRINDER".
My verdict.
The bike is a great product from hero honda stable, which tries 2 do everything, bt it actually does nothing perfectly.If u r looking for your first bike, then this is for u, because u wont care about the missing performance, n u ld get a great milage.n big bike feel.
Its gud for people, looking for upgrade from 100cc, n need 2 travell more n looking for fuel efficiency.
Bt for speed freaks n performance oriented riders, this is not at all the bike, u r looking for.
