Love her for what she is

This is my first review on this site. So the flow may not be the best one, but I have given what ever I observed.

A bit of background about my riding experience first. I used a splendor for 3 years and then an Eliminator for 4 years and now I am using the Zma for over an year now. I depend very heavily on the mouthshut reviews in most of my vehicle buying decisions.

Mostly use the bike for office commute. Have done a few long trips(3 to 4 hours. Not really long).

I researched and test drove the Unicorn, Pulsar 180, Apache and Extreme before I bought the Zma.

*Performance: **Great performance. Very smooth gear shifts. Responds well at all gears. Pleasure to overtake other vehicles in the city. The mileage is around 38 in city driving conditions and about 42 in the Highways.

*Handling and Safety: **Excellent handling. Smooth and easy to tilt and turn the bike in tight curves even at moderate(40-60kmph) speeds. Initially I felt that a wider back tyre would be better, but from my experience, I realize that the Hero Honda engineers know what they designed. Braking is excellent. Personally I liked the lightness of the braking in my eliminator though. In the Zma, I need to apply more pressure on the front for better braking. Also the rear brake drum could have been a wee bit larger. It might be a good idea to get a puncture resistant tyre/tube for your Zma.

*Comfort:** Seating position is very comfortable with a tilt forward position(very good for the back). But on long drives, after about 2 hours you will feel your bottom stressed out and pinched. May be a wider seat/cushion could solve this irritation. If you are about 168 cm or taller, you will feel very comfortable keeping both your feet on the ground and enjoy the handling of the bike better. Personally I would have liked a wider set of rear view mirrors, but the ones provided are sufficient. The lights should be more powerful, especially for night driving on the highways. If you are wearing shoe with lace, be careful not to get the lace loop entangled with the gear shift lever. There should have been some sort of tank bag or provision for saddle bags to carry light load/luggage.

The dials and taco are very nice and easy to view. The position of the light switches, horn and start button are convenient. I wish there was a start stop switch, so that you could switch off the engine when you wait at traffic lights, without taking your hands off the handle to turn off the ignition key! If you have children, it will be difficult for them to sit in the front at an awkward tilt. May be a bar could have been provided for resting their feet. Also the rear seat is a bit too high for most Indian ladies and especially difficult for older people to get on and off.

*Dealer: **I bought my bike from Sai motors in Bangalore. Very professional during sales and delivery was prompt. After sales service is good, but the dealer ship is a bit understaffed for the amount of vehicles thay handle. So sometimes, you have to wait unnecessarily.

*Overall satisfaction:**  Would recommend the bike to any bike lover, who does not care too much about mileage and luggage capacity:)
