Dave Katragadda's karizma

Well guys n gals(if ne one has a bike) :-).

Lemme tell you the practical pros and cons of the revolution called KARIZMA !! First the negatives (coz they are less) .. if we try to drive on higher

speeds even just above 55-60 km/hr and then apply sudden brakes.. the

bike skids a bit. It is due to the fact that the width of the rear

wheel of the bike is not sufficient enough to resist the abrasive force

on high speeds. Thats a negative for the persons who believe in JET

SET GO...but to be frank the designers of the vehicles are not so dumb

that they would not have noticed this aspect. Probably they did to get

a better mileage of the bike. As you may be knowing the maiden version

of KARIZMA had a poor mileage of 18-21 km/l. Therefore the automobile

engineers of HH would have slightly negelcted this aspect in order to

recieve a better mileage and target the "Indian Customer"(of course

width of the wheel is not the only factor to affect mileage..buy a its

one of them). Well , I think it is a good decision coz as of now the

bike is sufficient enough to handle any situation on Indian roads.

Another

negative is the large turning radius of the bike. But this point  does

not carry that much of significance as the bike is not launched to

perform in circuses :-)

Ok leme start with the POSITIVES now. First of all the looks!....wow wow wow and just wow!!!...

Dont compare with the superbikes...i mean there should be a level of

comparision too rt?..No one can say that Toyota Camry looks bad

coz Ferrari looks better???

...........boys...lemme tell you the

design and the bike in total is aborginal!!!!... See it from any

angle...nortg...south...east...west...unhhh...u can try north east tooo

:-)...it just thows an appeal. Its a statement which other bikes like

pulsar fail to do. Talking of P220 looks...the front dome is

wonderful...but the rest is just vestigal!!!. ...the rear portion is

tooo thin....i mean imagine a guy with upper part of his body bieng

like Arnold and the lower part bieng like Jim Carrey! :-)...No

innovation at all... the bajaj guys have worked on key features for

sure but they have not wrapped their inevention of DTSI in a good

looking frame!!

The second point is  Control. You

got to give full points here to karizma...its an absolute delight for

the rider. You just cannot compare with other bikes. While there is

hardly any difference between a Horse and the pusar when you release

the clutch...some people have actually named this phenomenon as "The

Spartan Style’...guys leme tell u...this no style but a great

mechanical engineering fallacy!

The third point is

of course the amplitude of the vibration that the bikes make on high

speeds..Karizma is really stable on 115+ Km/Hr . I have self experienced it. Pulsars are not!!!

Coming

to the idea of providing rear disc brakes ....it seems to be a stylish

feature but unnecessary as well. How does it feels if we imagine

autorickshaws having hydraullic power brakes for instant stoppages!..

My dear friends we are staying in INDIA...and the max speed any bike

can produce is approx 130km/Hr rt?...For that a front disc btake and

rear drum brakes are enough.

Well Iam not taking anything away

from the PULSARs...coz ...yes the pulsar has changed Indian Market.  It

has good features ...like tubeless tyres...a complete digital

console..rear discs...etc...No doubts its a balanced investment! ...But

if any one needs to taste the flavor of real biking...then may b no

INDIAN bike is pfect....but then KARIZMA definitely stands close!
