We finally bought the HERO HONDA PLEASURE..(my wife was after me since Dec 2005 to buy a scooter).. .. the showroom opened only recently..hence the test ride took time...
The scooter is a revelation..we have a Activa in our family and Pleasure compares better .. It is lighter and breezy , compared to brute power of Activa.. The fit and finish are excellent.. The ride is very comfortable, the pickup is surprisingly v good( I like to zoom from traffic light).. the seat is wide and comfortable..
The space beneath the seat is adequate.. our daughter can easily stand in front too.. The headlight has a exceptionally wide beam, which some like, some don’t.. its powerful though..
The electric start is lazy on mornings..it needs a few energetic kicks to get going (ladies will find it hard, since the scooter has to kept on its centre stand for the kickstart ) never try it with the scooter off the stand ( I learnt it the most painful way..the scooter took off and I had to run along it , while the stand and the footrest cut into my leg.).
The horn sounds like an apology.. may be they intended it to be lady like..but frankly it sounds very puny ..I am getting it changed during the first service ..Also the indicator lacks a buzzer.. But the worst feature is the rearview mirror.. its colour matched , but rigid and is off no use..I am transplanting my bike’s mirror ..in spite of spoiling the looks..
I write this because I decided to buy HHPleasure for my wife after reading all the reviews here on Mouthshut .. and I am quite happy.. only my wife started complaining .. that she does not get to ride it more often.. I have developed a liking for it in spite of its very girly aqua green colour ( looks queer when I take it to office ) . I am going on the second tank-full , calculated mileage to be around 45 kms..nothing great great.. hope it gets better ..
Boys..Go ahead and buy it .. Why Should Girls have all the Fun ??
