Simplicity is beauty..!!!

It has been 2 years, since I am riding my splendor. And I am happy with my baby!

It all started 2 years back, when I need a bike as I had landed myself a job in hyderabad. At that time, I had only heard of Pulsar and Victor as latest dhamak bikes...but I decided against them and bought the low budget and good mileage bike.

If I think of the bike in the current scenario....then yes, I do want to have an impressive looking bike...so here’s the review keeping all the bikes, I think are worth mentioning...

Bajaj Bikes:

Pulsar is costlier than Splendor, but Styling is great..in fact it took the market by storm when it was launched. As the bikers didnot have much of a choice since Hero Honda ruled at that time ...but even now despite of all the new entries...I wonder why Hero Honda is not breaking the stereo typed looks...no matter what launch you see...they are more or less the same...

Splendor >> Splendor + >> Passion >> Passion plus >> Super Splendor >> Glamour blah blah

The only cool looking bike has been CBZ...but that has not been a roaring success..

Anyway, back to comparison....

Pulsar fails to deliver the 65-70 average...that I get from my splendor. I havent had a huge servicing jhatka so far. And now that the petrol prices have shot up to 50/- . I feel rather delighted with my bike... :)

Discover is yet another bike, which was launched to eat up the market share of splendor..but such is our rigid market or buyers...that any conventional guy...would rather buy a splendor !

Apart from this, Splendor has a better resale value than other bikes.

All said and done if budget is a constraint than go for splendor ...and if you want you can as well modify it a bike...by giving it a straight handle ...by using a fatter tyre etc.

All this is pretty relative, .. Even now when I look at the darn Avenger add...my mouth drools for it..!! And what more...i was planning to get the bike as well...but then there were change in plans and I somehow will have to move abroad ..hence, had to drop the Avenger plan.

Oh yes! Be careful when you are driving splendor...i.e. donot preferrably cross 60 mark...as I met with couple of really bad accidents...because this bike lacks the stability at high speed. So, nowadays I only drive her at 40-50 mark. The rear or front break ..both are good but not good enough if you are talking to wind...In fact Splendor is like a lawfully wedded wife, hence, you have to handle her with care and on the other hand the other style and power oriented bikes are like mistresses, use them as you please. ;)

But it will always be splendor that saved me for 2 long years from petrol hangovers and I am grateful to my baby.
