Hi Guys,
I have booked my Unicorn in grey shade so just wait for it various reviews.
No this is not the thing I wanted to inform you about the Overdrive review on Super Splendor, As per the review they say that this new version is really super because I gives good milage compared to other bike in this segment and given mostly they might give it the best bike crown for 125 cc bike group without comparing it with other 125 CC bikes like Victor or Prima(Compared bike are Discover, Frazer and Super Splendor).
But what hurts me here is that tomorrow Bajaj or TVS or any other bike maker will make a 125 CC with 8 or 9 BHP bike which gives more milage then SS then they will crown it as a best bike. There should be some criteria for all the segments you make a 10 BHP engine out of 150 cc bike and say that it gives 70 KMPL does not make the bike good it should have performance as well when they are of higher capacity.
Discover and Fazer are more heavier and though quicker then SS also look are good (The google headlamp on Fazer which was liked by Overdrive team till now has become ugly for them) Any way everyone has their own thinking I still stay with my line there is nothing super about super if you want milage then you should go with Bajaj CT100 which makes 8.2 BHP from 100CC engine and is much cheaper then SS.
As per one of the review the engine is made by Honda Japan and not by HH, it doesnt make any difference who is the maker of engine what matters is the performance.
If you want only HH bike and you love splendor look then with some more graphics and couple of more goodies then you can go for SS. Other wise you have lots of option opened in Indian bike market today. Best of luck.
Wait for my full review on Unicorn.
Thanks.
Title : Super Splendor IS IT SUPER?
Review : Hi All, From long I am visiting Mouthshut to read reviews of various bikes but this is the 1st time I am writing one, hope to provide a useful help for them who need it and will like it too.
Any way coming to the point I was happy to hear that HH launched its new version of tried and tested Splendor and was eager to test ride it and yesterday I managed to do it from my busy schedule, so let me tell you my experience.
As one of the most reputed and trusted brand in Indian bike market HH have a edge over the competitors but now I think the top guns at HH are just giving what they want to give not what consumer want, the new Sarva Guna Sampanna bike didn?t excited me after having a look at its spec sheet at showroom as its just makes 9 HP from its 124 cc engine, it don?t have any new technology advantage I don?t understand what is Super in Super Splendor other then increased CC and some face lift, if you visit HH site for feature section (https://herohonda.com/site/ss/features.htm) you will find that there is no word mentioned for engine superiority in terms of technology or competition and I really don?t know what is Quantum Core Engine.
Now coming to test ride as we all know no one can make out how bike will perform on road rather then in HH showroom test track( concrete block road of 200 meters) one round, then also what I felt is this: Off course its more powerful then old splendour, it has a good pickup (cant say exact I was not able to force it to its limit due to showroom guy behind me and also slipy surface) cant say much about handling but I felt it right, not to forget about the fit and finish perfection from HH its superior also switchgear are good having all the switches(indicator, light, pass and horn) on left side of handle.
It also features trip meter a welcome addition but all this does not comes up to the more goodies given by Bajaj at the same or less price.
About pricing it coast 46k on road in Pune for the basic version (Drum and Kick start). For now I think this will be enough will return back soon as get some long ride on so called Super Splendor.
Pros : Looks
Cons: Less power, no tech advantage.
