Being Imtiaz Ali film, I was longing to see this movie. I must say that I am not fully satisfied with the movie. May be after Jab We Met, expectations are sky high from Imtiaz. In short, movie is good for scenic beauty shots and acting but lacks on many fronts. Definitely masala movie goers will hate this movie. It may fall into documentary types movie.
Story:
I felt that this was the weakest point in the film. There is no proper presentation given to Alia and Randeep’s background. It felt as if the main point of the movie was to show scenic beauty and story aspect was weaved around it.
Acting:
Alia has been showcased in the movie. She has done a good job, but she has still a long way to go. If I compare her with Parineeti of Hasee Toh Phasee, she has still a long way to go. Randeep rocks. I have always admired his acting, feel he is most under-rated actor. Loved his character in the movie. Still more footage given to Alia.
Imtiaz:
Whenever I watch his movies, I always have Jab We Met "Awesomeness" quotient, which I failed to connect in Rockstar and this movie. No doubt he is intelligent director, still needs to perform.
Masala movie lovers, please don’t watch. Serious movie audience can watch.
