Himalayatells the story of a village, which since time immemorial, has engaged in a winter trek to sell salt and exchange rice back. Their lives are completely dictated by their beautiful and treacherous mountain environment.
The journeys are conducted by yak caravans. For many years the old chief, Tinle, led the treks, but he retired in favor of his son. Now his son is dead, his body brought back to the village by Karma, who wants to take his place at the head of the yak caravans...
The story contains love and misunderstandings between families, friendship, suspicion, trust, different viewpoints between two generations...
What impressed me is said by a monk in a Buddhist monastery, When two paths open up before you, always choose the hardest one.
