I am submitting this alongside my revu on Wildlife protection. What an irony :)
Beauty and the beast... Categorically
Coming from the Himalayan products stable, (If u had read my other reviews) I sure had high expectations from this product. Perhaps thats the reason why this product failed to satisfy me. Basic funda, higher expectations means higher performance required. Whatever it may be... this is one product which is a black sheep from a otherwise wonderful range of personal care products, apart from the Himalaya shampoo which is even worse.
Thankfully it is available in most of the pharma shops around the city. A usual creme and green bottle welcomes you in the classic Himalayan style.
Boasts of containing Methi, Nimbu and many other ayurvedic products which protect hair from hair loss and cools the mind and relieves tension ( That is actually claimed on the bottle!!!) Dont know about the tension part as it has bought no noticeable change in me. But the other claims are as baseless as it can get.
Pros:
a) The odor is pleasant and not very herbal... the trap that many ayurvedic companies fall into. Its just right, not strong.
b) It is non stick and its very light. Just the kind that appeals to most of us. Hopefully this does not use the mineral oil that other nonstick oils use.
c) From the Himalayan products stable, which is generally trustworthy and good quality stuff
Cons:
a) Not effecting in curbing hair fall or dandruff like Dabur Vatika is. That one is really effective. This one falls flat on the performance field
b) Quite expensive. Rs.60 for a 100 ml bottle is quite expensive for a hair oil.
c) The bottle, is too clumsily designed... The packaging must be improved considering that it is hair oil and not some astringent.
The pros and the cons are matched, well almost. But still anyday I would prefer Dabur Vatika to Himalayan hair oil. Go for it only if u want a mediocre non stick hair oil.
