I watched the movie Hindi Medium. The movie is pictured on the struggle of the parents to get admitted there child in a known branded school looking at the future prospectus. It is a common phenomenon in India and especially in the cities where due to peer pressure, the parents needs to keep the status and admit their kids in the schools. Although the movie is an low in budget but high in thought provoking.
As I watched the movie, my thoughts were entirely different
# Today admitting a child in a school is the toughest job and the branded schools does not guarantee that the kid will do good in future. Branded school builds unnecessary stress not only to kids but to parents.
# Education today has become business as it is run not in the purpose to serve society, but to make profits. Education only makes one to be selfish for success. The success is undefined.
# Filling an admission form is the most difficult thing not only for schools but even for any purpose. The longer the form the more confusion it brings.
# The parents may be highly educated and at respectable position in the society, however in the school the teacher was the one time struggler to complete her matriculation. Most of the time, parents ask the opinion of these school teachers on their children future.
# If values and getting basic foundation right is the objective of the schools, they why not the schools have doctorates to teach in the school.
# Necessity is the mother of invention and getting the right support and right teaching method makes the childs learning ability stronger. Caring is sharing is what needs to be taught in the school.
# Children learn through fun and pressure of learning many things in many ways is killing there creativity.
# We only remember the success of one child who was extraordinary and think that admitting in that particular school the children would do better. Many parents think admitting in IITs will make successful. Although thousands passout from IITs since 1959, only few are successful.
# It is not school but it is the purpose which makes people successful which parents never understand.
